Bolstered by next-generation connectivity, UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 lets you run large professional mixes with the rich analog character of award-winning UA-developed plug-ins (sold separately), including exclusive titles from Neve, Fender, Lexicon, Studer, and many more.
QUAD CORE PROCESSING
The UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 QUAD Core is equipped with four powerful SHARC processors that provide a massive DSP boost for running large professional mixes. For even more processing power, the UAD-2 Satellite can also be integrated alongside UAD-2 PCIe DSP Accelerator cards and Thunderbolt-equipped Apollo interfaces, including Apollo Twin, DUO, QUAD, and 16.

With improved performance and reduced plug-in latency versus FireWire, UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 lets you run UAD Powered Plug-Ins via Thunderbolt connection on Mac and Windows 10 systems. And with backwards compatibility, you can connect the UAD-2 Satellite to devices with Thunderbolt 1 and Thunderbolt 2 ports.
UAD-2 Satellite features a compact, durable chassis that fits neatly in gig bags and carry-ons, making it easy to take your UAD plug-ins “on the road” for mixing on Thunderbolt-equipped systems.

I've used this for about 3 years. I'm the 2nd owner.
The original owner informed me that the control room/headphone knob is intermittent. I have an external monitor controller, so it didn't bother me at all.
It has some scratches on the top, but the front is very clean.
Sounds wonderful!! The converter is still top notch.  According to Avid, it's the same converter as the HD i/o, but a different power supply due to the size.
I'm throwing in a 12ft Digilink Cable.
